HD761 Seminar in Guyana (1 cr.) This course gives students the opportunity to experience various institutions in Guyana, South America. This seminar allow students to engage in business, ecology, geography, sustainability, and indigenous cultures. The cross-cultural and interdisciplinary experiences allows students to have broad involvements but with a focus on a particular area of learning.
Upon completion of the course, all students are expected to be able to do the following:
- Construct a personal and contextualized understanding of the contemporary issues facing Guyana through readings, discussions, and experiences.
- Analyze the directions and strategic initiatives of several businesses in Guyana.
- Compare and contrast the culture and wisdom of indigenous peoples with the student’s own culture.
