E176 The Graphic Novel

3 credit(s)
This course is designed to introduce students to fiction within the graphic novel genre and increase students’ appreciation of the experience of reading. With a close, critical focus on the relationship between text and image, students will learn to identify common conventions and themes in fiction, and consider how the interpretation of literature contributes to a deeper understanding of language and culture. Prerequisite: E120  or E120 /E220  placement.
