ITM615 Managing Technology Teams (3 cr.) This course examines the best practices for recruiting and retaining a talented staff, defining and applying measurable performance metrics, and delegating effectively. The use of efficient time management methods, leveraging different personality types, and results-oriented motivational techniques are studied.
Upon completion of this course, students are expected to be able to do the following:
- Evaluate strategies for building high-performing teams and eliminating obstacles to effective teamwork.
- Define manager and team member roles.
- Evaluate methodologies for managing the complexities of group dynamics, including decision making, power, and conflict.
- Test the usefulness of social networks and related technology techniques to influence individuals and groups.
- Differentiate cultural nuances to encourage inclusivity and respect.
