ESL036 Public Speaking II2 credit(s) Continuing from Public Speaking I, the course begins with a review of the basic principles, strategies and forms of public speaking. The course proceeds with a focus on the production of oral language for academic purposes. Using material from a variety of academic disciplines, students will examine and participate in a variety of group discussions and oral presentations requisite to common undergraduate courses. Additionally, along with the interpersonal/cultural skills necessary to an effective speaker and listener, students explore methods of building confidence and relieving stress while speaking in a second language.
