TH351 The Sacramental Imagination3 cr. credit(s) Through incarnation, the Christian worldview has a language for God’s presence in the created order through sin, and in Catholic theology, this is called the sacramental imagination. This course will introduce modern models of sacraments and liturgy, historical development of both, but also how the sacramental imagination works in venues outside the Church walls (the natural environment, the life of prayer, the meaning of the human as imago dei, the visual arts and architecture, more). Prerequisite: TH285 or permission of the instructor.
