MUED121 Foundations of Music Education1 credit(s) This blended learning environment course is an introduction to teaching music as a career. Topics include: an introduction to teaching methodology, foundation and history of music education in America, an overview of various teaching settings and styles, and personal career development. Students will complete 6 hours of field experience observation in the music classroom in at least two different settings. It is open to all students interested in exploring Music Education as a possible career, no prerequisite, recommended for first year spring semester; could be taken sophomore year. This is a required course for music education majors.
