MBA640 Managerial Accounting (3 cr.) This course examines on the principles and techniques of managerial cost accounting. It covers various cost accounting techniques and the effective use of accounting information for business decision making. Topics include cost-volume-profit analysis, activity based costing, activity based management, inventory costing and capacity analysis, cost allocation, and budgeting.
Upon completion of this course, students are expected to be able to do the following:
- Use cost accounting techniques to support decision making in an organization.
- Solve previously unseen problems using the concepts and techniques of managerial accounting.
- Apply strategic cost management techniques.
- Contribute to the management capacity of a firm by proper use of costing information.
