S365 Sociology of Elderhood

3 credit(s)
The course provides an introduction to the historic and present states of institutions, roles, norms, folkways, and population patterns that characterize the social processes and meanings of elderhood.  The course applies an emancipatory perspective on the third stage of life so that learners develop and act upon a conscious recognition of our common stake in access to the conditions of flourishing through the end of life. Prerequisite: S110 .
