QR101 Quantitative Reasoning

This course introduces students to the practice of reasoning with data and numbers. Students will learn strategies for making decisions, techniques for collecting and presenting quantitative evidence, and a variety of approaches to data visualization. The course covers a broad range of concepts, including such practical topics as personal finance and spreadsheet usage. This course explores how to use quantitative approaches when facing a decision, making an argument, or reasoning out the solution to the challenges students face as individuals, community members, and citizens in the twenty-first century. This course contributes to the First Year Experience by equipping students with tools and techniques that will empower them to tackle the complexities they encounter throughout their lifelong learning journey. This is a First Year Experience course.
