PM505 Human Relations in Ministry (3 cr.)


This course covers how to create and maintain healthy and well-managed internal and external working relationships in the field of ministry. Learners explore best practices and theories about organizational culture, ethical leadership, group dynamics, balance of power, and professional communication needed to sustain and support vibrant faith communities. 

Learning objectives:

  1. Analyze your own way of exercising faith-driven leadership in situations of uncertainty in the changing and challenging world.

  2. Examine best practices for developing healthy interpersonal relationships that generate a culture of encounter and establish a welcoming environment.

  3. Differentiate between various conflict resolution styles, emotions, empathy, and criticism influence resolution and communication.

  4. Analyze interpersonal communication skills that nurture and serve faith communities and each other in the organization.

  5. Assess the causes and effects of stress and burnout in the workplace.
