SCA610 Strategic Sourcing and Optimization Strategy (3 cr.)

Strategic sourcing can help an organization develop long-term relationships in the supply chain network. In this course students explore the use of data models to identify opportunities for improvement in the strategic sourcing process. Students also explore how artificial intelligence can support the identification of optimal supply chain solutions. Through the application of supply chain management principles, learners begin to assess data profiling studies in a variety of supply chain sourcing functions including sourcing, pricing, spend analysis, market research, negotiations, and contracting services.

Upon completion of the course, students are expected to be able to do the following:

1. Build cost models to improve negotiation strategy.
2. Evaluate an organization’s supply chain network for strategic sourcing optimization opportunities.
3. Apply artificial intelligence models to strategic sourcing initiatives.
4. Explain the results of data models used to support strategic sourcing decisions and alternatives.
