LASF600 Lasallian Education Experiential Learning 1 (3 cr.)

Prerequisite(s):

This course provides groundwork for learners to explore and understand the distinctive elements of Lasallian history, spirituality, and pedagogy. It also introduces learners to self-directed, experiential learning. Using core readings, participation at formation events, and conversations with their peers and advisor, students begin to examine their professional experience in light of the Lasallian charism. Upon completion of this course, students are expected to be able to do the following:

  1. Examine the history, spirituality, and pedagogy behind present-day Lasallian education.
  2. Apply Lasallian education principles to present-day education questions.
  3. Frame vital questions clearly.
  4. Evaluate relevant information and its sources.
  5. Articulate the congruence between personal norms and Lasallian education principles.
