LASF610 Lasallian Education Experiential Learning 3 (3 cr.) This course asks learners to specifically consider ‘who is a Lasallian educator?’ and helps them to understand the personal dispositions of a Lasallian educator. Special attention is given to the twelve Lasallian teaching virtues as articulated by Brother Agathon as well as their contemporary application. Through their ongoing formation experience and in conversation with their advisor, learners continue to explore their identity as a Lasallian educator.
Upon completion of this course, students are expected to be able to do the following:
- Assess the relevance and applicability of the Lasallian teaching virtues for contemporary educational contexts.
- Explain the value of a virtue-based approach to teacher preparation.
- Develop a presentation that models the personal dispositions of a Lasallian educator.
- Communicate with clarity and coherence, particularly through oral presentation.
- Identify areas of growth in their own pedagogical practice.
