EDD823 Quantitative Research Design and Methods (3 cr.)Prerequisite(s): EDD814 , EDD821 This course examines quantitative research design and methods, including descriptive and inferential statistics, sampling strategies, and hypothesis testing. Students learn to select appropriate statistical techniques, interpret results, and evaluate quantitative research. Emphasis is placed on statistical reasoning, ethical research practices, and the application of quantitative methods to real-world problems. Students are introduced to statistical tools to support analysis.
Upon completion of the course, students are expected to be able to do the following:
-
Critically evaluate the application of various quantitative methods and their application to research problems.
-
Design a quantitative research study including sampling strategy, variables, and appropriate statistical tests.
-
Select appropriate statistical techniques for analyzing quantitative data.
-
Interpret and communicate quantitative findings in relation to research questions and hypotheses.
-
Evaluate quantitative research in scholarly literature, including methods, analysis, and conclusions.
-
