This track provides up-to-date knowledge and skills in the technology and application of computer security. Students will learn to apply risk management methods, and strategies; enhance the protection of enterprise-wide information assets; and detect and plan for cyber-attacks on networks and computer systems.
General Goals for Learning:
In addition to the computer science goals given above, students in the Cybersecurity track will be able to:
Develop technology skills to Integrate secure network components through knowledge of the operation of hardware, transmission media and network access control devices.
Perform a risk assessment to determine the extent that technology assets are exposed to risk.
Conduct a security control testing plan that involves a vulnerability assessment, and penetration testing
Implement the basics of evidence collection and documentation, investigative techniques, and digital forensics tools and procedures.
Implement recovery strategies such as backup, recovery sites, multiple processing sites and fault tolerance.
