This major prepares students to enter a variety of careers in sport, entertainment and event management. Coursework emphasizes understanding business practices and the unique challenges associated with scheduling, promotion and coordination of physical and human resources in the sport, entertainment and event industries.
Learning Outcomes
- Demonstrate financial literacy and decision-making skills in sport contexts, including budgeting, revenue generation, and financial analysis for sport organizations and events.
- Use a dialectical method to analyze and apply legal and ethical principles to resolve complex issues in sports.
- Design and manage sport events and facilities, incorporating operational planning, risk management, and customer experience strategies.
- Develop and implement strategic sport marketing decisions, by incorporating elements of effective brand execution, audience engagement, and market segmentation to drive organizational success.
- Apply digital and social media analytic techniques to measure performance, enhance engagement, and inform strategic decision-making in sport marketing and management.
