Catholic Education Minor

(18 credits)

The Catholic Education minor at Saint Mary’s University prepares students with a foundational understanding of the history, structure, and goals of Catholic education along with an understanding of basic instructional skills and knowledge of developmentally appropriate ways to work with young people from birth through high school.  It will support and expand future career options, as well as the Lasallian tradition of lifelong service to parish, school, and community through education.  This minor is for majors in any field with an interest in a Catholic worldview of education or who may work with schools or youth in their field of study, including lay people and those entered into or discerning religious life, such as seminarians and those in religious orders.
