HS651 Policy for Human Services (3 cr.) This course examines the policy and ethical dimensions affecting long-term care and human services administration. Topics include ethical issues, laws, and public policy impacting services; finance and delivery; frameworks for ethical decision making; socioeconomic impacts on public policy; and strategies for influencing the policy-making process.
Upon completion of this course, students are expected to be able to do the following:
- Apply frameworks for ethical administrative decision making.
- Analyze policies and law impacting the delivery and financial operations of services for vulnerable adults.
- Evaluate the role of regional and national regulations on long-term care and human services.
- Identify and explain ways to influence the creation of public policy.
