MFT660H In-Home Family Therapy (1 cr.)Prerequisite(s): MFT605 , MFT620
Pre/Co-requisite: MFT615 This course examines the nature and philosophy of in-home therapy services. Focus is on the pragmatic issues of delivering home-based services to families. This course is designed to give students a realistic view and understanding of current in-home therapy as presented in state statutes and HMO contracts. Diagnosis, treatment planning, effective models of therapy, and ethical dilemmas are reviewed.
Upon completion of this course, students are expected to be able to do the following:
- Understand current In-Home standards, procedures, and expectations.
- Learn to match family needs and functioning with effective interventions
- Gain knowledge and insight into the unique risks and ethical issues of In-Home Therapy.
- Increase cultural competency in regards to In-Home Therapy.
