PY705 Evaluation and Outcome Measurement in Counseling & Psychological Services (2 cr.)

Prerequisite(s): PY620  
This course focuses on applying research to determine the efficacy of counseling approaches and specific clinical interventions in practice. Emphasis is placed on the development, use, evaluation, and implementation of outcome measures to determine efficacy at the individual, group, and programmatic levels. 

Upon completion of the course, students are expected to be able to do the following:

  1. Utilize research to determine the efficacy of counseling approaches and clinical interventions. 
  2. Compare and contrast evidence-based practices to determine appropriate treatment modalities or interventions tailored to specific client needs and situations.
  3. Evaluate available outcome measures and develop a plan to assess therapeutic outcome at individual, group, and/or programmatic levels.
