This course addresses curriculum, skills, and knowledge needed to teach science in grades 5-12. Topics studied include, but are not limited to, national and state content standards, lesson and unit planning, best practices, and evaluation procedures. Classroom management, effective teaching strategies, utilization of technology, diverse learners, and assessment to guide instruction are stressed.
Prerequisites or Concurrent Courses: Foundations, Educational Psychology and Child Development, Curriculum and Instruction, Assessing Student Learning Offered fall semester.
