B377 Introduction to Forestry3 credit(s) The goal of this course is to introduce students to the ecology and management of forests. Students will be presented with information on the biology of trees, forest growth and change, and how forests are affected by and affect other aspects of the ecosystem. In addition, emphasis will be placed on the human dimensions of forestry including the history of forestry, land ownership, forest management techniques, the economics of forestry, and important forest policies. Prerequisites: B216 and B221 or consent of the instructor.
