This course explores the historical, philosophical, and sociological foundations of education. Students examine connections between theory and practice on topics within these contexts. Topics include the history and philosophies of education, today’s students, teachers, schools, teacher effectiveness, current issues, school reform, systems of oppression in K-12 education, and professionalism.
