EDD834 Proposal Development (1 cr.)Prerequisite(s): EDD899
Optional: May be taken as one of the 9 dissertation credits. This course supports students in developing a complete dissertation proposal. Working individually and collaboratively, students draft and refine key components of the proposal, including problem of practice, literature review, and research design. Emphasis is placed on scholarly writing, alignment of research components, and the use of peer feedback to strengthen proposals. By the end of the course, students will produce a proposal suitable for submission to their advisor.
Upon completion of this course, students are expected to be able to do the following:

Develop a complete and coherent dissertation proposal aligned with a defined problem, literature, and research design.

Present and defend a dissertation proposal to peers and faculty.

Provide and incorporate constructive scholarly feedback to strengthen research design and writing.

Demonstrate advanced scholarly writing, including adherence to APA and academic conventions.
