Program Description
The Bachelor of Science in Applied Psychology provides students a foundation of the human mind and behavior through authentic learning experiences. As their focus of study, learners choose a diverse and multidisciplinary real-world setting, which may be located in the corporate sector, state and local government, education, or a community-based agency. They apply theory-based psychological approaches to their setting, developing skills in research and the ability to interpret, communicate, and apply data and findings. Throughout the program, individuals strengthen and commit to their personal and professional knowledge and growth in effective communication skills, critical thinking, ethical behavior, empathy, and respect for diversity, equity, inclusivity and social justice. They are empowered to use their knowledge and skills to collaborate with others to encourage positive change in their lives and the world around them. This program follows the American Psychological Association (APA) Guidelines for the Undergraduate Psychology Major.
Program Outcomes
Upon completion of the program, graduates are expected to be able to do the following:

Degree Requirements
A minimum of 120 semester credits are required for graduation for the Bachelor of Science degree from Saint Mary’s University. All students must meet the general education credit requirements. The faculty members for this program have earned doctorate or master’s degrees. Faculty are selected for their combination of educational and professional experience and expertise. Admission Requirements
Applicants may apply for admission to undergraduate certificate and degree programs at any time during the year and, if accepted, begin the program during any one of the three semesters. Applicants must demonstrate the language proficiency necessary for successful undergraduate coursework. Applicants must provide all official transcripts issued to Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota for all previously attempted college-level coursework. If no college-level coursework has been previously attempted, an official high school transcript showing an earned diploma must be submitted. Applicants may complete an interview with a program administrator as part of the admission process. Application Process

An official high school or GED transcript issued to Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota. Transfer students who, following high school completion, have earned 12 or more college-level credits and at least C/2.0 or above grades are not required to submit official high school transcripts. - Official transcripts from all post-high school coursework including technical and community colleges. (An official transcript is one that is sent to the university by the credit-granting institution.)
Students with transcripts issued in the U.S. may be admitted without an official transcript. Students must provide an official transcript by the last day to add/drop classes in their first term of attendance. In cases where students are completing coursework while simultaneously applying for admission, students may be admitted with an in-progress transcript, and an official transcript posting final grades and, when appropriate, degree attainment, must be submitted before students are allowed to register for subsequent semesters. Applicants from countries outside the U.S. must submit: -
A completed application form. -
High school transcripts and post-high school transcripts which must be evaluated by a university accepted evaluation service, such as World Education Services, Educational Credential Evaluators, Educational Perspectives, or One Earth International Credential Evaluators and be deemed equivalent to accredited U.S. university standards). Evaluations from an approved member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES.org) will also be accepted. Any post-high school transcripts should be evaluated on a course by course basis rather than a general evaluation. -
English proficiency Exam - Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota accepts the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL iBT)) with a minimum score of 72, the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) with a minimum score of 6.0, Duolingo Language Test with a minimum score of 105, the International Test of English Proficiency (ITEP) with a minimum score of 4.0 or Pearson Test of English with a score of 51, EIKEN with a minimum of Pre-1, and the Manchester Exam with a minimum score of 360.
