NA780 Clinical Integration (3 cr.)Prerequisite(s): Concurrent enrollment in NA771 This course focuses on the application of evidence-based research principles to nurse anesthesia practice. Discussions are facilitated by practitioners in a care conference format. Activities include reviewing principles of evidence-based practice interventions and critical analysis of actual case scenarios and professional issues.
Upon completion of this course, students are expected to be able to do the following:
- Prepare and analyze a comprehensive review of the literature pertaining to a topic relevant to contemporary anesthesia practice.
- Analyze patient care outcomes in terms of planned or actual care delivered, cultural awareness, cost, and contemporary evidence-based principles.
- Demonstrate critical thinking and problem solving skills while evaluating actual patient care.
- Become certified and nurse managers for substance use disorders.
- Discuss the concepts related to self-awareness and wellness and how they can be integrated into anesthesia practice.
