The Doctoral Qualifying Examination (QE) is administered once a year in early August and is typically completed at the end of the student’s second year in the PsyD program. Students respond to prompts designed to assess their ability to critically apply the knowledge and skills developed during the first two years of coursework. Questions present a simulated professional scenario, case materials from a hypothetical client, or another real-world application. The program determines the exam format, which may include a combination of written and oral responses administered in person, under proctoring, or as take-home components.
