Catalog Addendum


Below are listed additions and corrections to the curriculum and policies of the 2025-2026 SGPP Catalog and Handbook since its publication on July 1, 2025. All items listed below have been made in the online catalog sections to which they apply. Links to the relevant pages have been provided. Information posted here has been approved by university leadership. 


Addition

Added new courses GN 130 GN 135 GN 140 . and GN 145  to the Undergraduate Requirements .

Added new practicum completion course CLPY 700  to the Clinical Psychology, M.S.  courses, including a course fee of $325.

Revision

Revised the prerequisites for MPY 641 Marriage and Family Counseling , allowing MPY 605   and MPY 608   to be taken as prerequisites or corequisites.

Revised the number of credits required to complete the Educational Leadership, M.A.  from 33 to 30.

Revised the Educational Leadership, M.A. :

  • Updated the program description by adding this statement: The use of artificial intelligence (A.I.) in educational leadership and administration is examined.
  • Added a 10th program outcome: Process of Change: Evaluate visionary, systemic and technological change relevant to educational organizations.
  • Revised the program structure and delivery description to remove reference to the action research project that is no longer relevant.
  • Revised the program structure and delivery description to accept transfer credits from 5 years to 10 years

Revised the course description for EL 662 Promoting Change  by adding:

  • Also examined is the influence of artificial intelligence (A.I.) on educational systems and practices. 
  • 5. Assess the scope and significance of A.I. technology in educational systems and processes.

Under the University Conduct  section, the Student Complaint Policy and Procedure was revised to identify the staff and offices responsible for addressing student complaints.

Revised the Education, M.A.  program by removing the specializations in Mental Health in Education and Education Technology, limiting enrollment in the specialization in Curriculum and Instruction, and changed the course options for the Custom specialization.

Revised the course prefix from ET 605 Enhancing Learning with Technology  to EDMA 605 Enhancing Learning with Technology .

Revised the Public Health, M.P.H.  program to reduce the number of credits required to earn the degree to 36 credits by removing MPH 610 Social and Behavioral Aspects of Public Health  and HA 640 Advanced Health Policy and Ethics  and requiring all student to enroll in MPH 645 Population Health and Community Organizing .  The admission requirements were revised by removing the program prerequisite requirements of proof of a human biology course and a statistics course.

Revision of the Organizational Leadership, M.A.  program to reduce the number of credits required to earn the degree to 30 credits by removing OL 615 Critical Thinking and Research OL 640 Power and Influence OL 644 Talent Management  and requiring all students to enroll in HRM 604 Training and Development . Substitution of graduate certificate credtis for required courses to earn the master’s degree is no longer allowed. Minor changes to the program description and outcomes.

Reduced the minimum credits required to graduate from Bachelor of Science degree to 90 credits and the minimum credits required to graduate from the Applied Psychology, B.S.  to 24 credits.

Revised the Readmission policy to include guidance on students who have completed either a graduate certificate or a master’s degree are allowed to return through the readmission process within two years of completion to pursue a stacked credential.
