CST615 Instruction and Assessment II (3 cr.)

Prerequisite(s): CST610  
This course continues exploring the strategies and techniques which were addressed in Instruction and Assessment I.  The application of foundational teaching skills, learning assessment practices, and academic lesson planning strategies in a Catholic school classroom are emphasized. The course continues building on the teaching skills and techniques required for success as a Catholic school educator. Best practices pertaining to the assessment of learning outcomes are demonstrated. The course examines the scope and significance of lesson planning techniques required for the effective facilitation of positive learning communities in Catholic school classrooms.

Upon completion of this course, students are expected to be able to do the following:

  1. Practice various teaching techniques and strategies required for effective teaching.
  2. Analyze best practices required for the assessment of academic learning outcomes.
  3. Demonstrate effective educational assessment techniques needed to accurately evaluate learning.
  4. Create academic lesson plans for implementation in classroom settings.
  5. Practice effective communications strategies needed for facilitating inclusive learning communities.
