GN140 Communicate with Confidence (3 cr.) This introductory course in communication equips students with essential communication skills for a wide range of contexts – from academic presentations and professional environments to civic and interpersonal dialogue. Students examine the principles of purposeful speaking, active listening, ethical persuasion, and inclusive communication. Through structured presentations, constructive feedback, and reflective practice, participants strengthen key career-readiness competencies such as teamwork, professionalism, leadership, and critical thinking.
Upon completion of this course, students are expected to be able to do the following:

Create structured oral presentations to effectively convey ideas that demonstrate clarity, presence, and business-appropriate polish.
