Teaching, M.A. with Elementary Licensure Preparation Degree Requirements

Degree Requirements

Elementary Licensure Required Courses 36 cr.
Master of Arts Degree Completion Courses   6 cr.
Total 42 cr.

 

Elementary Licensure Required Courses: 36 cr.

Master of Arts Degree Completion Courses: 6 cr.

Additional Course as Needed for Licensure

K-12 Reading Certificate Completion

Students who have completed or are completing the Teaching, M.A. with Elementary Licensure program can complete the K-12 Reading Certificate   by taking a reduced number of credits (9 additional K-12 Reading Certificate credits) based on the following course substitutions:

  • EDU520 Foundations of Language and Literacy replaces RDG600 Foundations of Language and Literacy

  • EDU585 Advanced Literacy replaces RDG601 Advanced Literacy.

  • EDU530 Literacy in the Disciplines replaces RDG602 Literacy in the Disciplines.

All course substitutions will be reviewed and approved by the K-12 Reading Certificate program director.
